Why do Anything if Life is Destined?

Why do Anything if Life is Destined - Nishit

Question 11:

Spiritual teachings tell us to ‘surrender’ and realize we are not the doer, that everything is God’s Leela (play) or driven by past Karma. But at the same time, we are told to make good choices, do our Dharma, and take responsibility for our lives. If I am not the doer, who is making the choices? How do I actively pursue a goal or make a difficult life decision while genuinely remaining in a state of surrender?

Answer:

There are 3 layers of Karma. Sanchit Karma is the storehouse of all your Karma (past, present, future). Prarabdh Karma is a small portion of your Karma which you will experience/ exhaust in this life. And Kriyaman Karma is the Karma you are doing right now.

As far as you are breathing, you keep creating new Karma which is added in Sanchit and to some extent in the Prarabdh also.

You’re making good choices to eventually experience good things in the future. Events and experiences of the present life are already imprinted in the Prarabdh, it cannot be changed with Kriyaman.

However, spirituality is the secret sauce that helps us sail smoothly through Prarabdh.

Surrender, and you will see that things are actually happening by itself. You’re not doing anything, just watching life unfold.

After I quit my last profession, I had no clue as to what will unfold. But astrology came spontaneously. I did not actively make that decision.

Question 12: The Trap of “Manifestation”

The internet is flooded with teachings about the ‘Law of Attraction’ and using spiritual energy to ‘manifest’ wealth, perfect relationships, and dream lives. But traditional spirituality always emphasizes surrendering desires and accepting what is. Can manifestation and true spirituality coexist, or is trying to manifest the perfect life just another trap of the ego?

Answer:

In higher states of consciousness, thoughts alone create reality. Focus on your spiritual growth. Let the manifestation be Sahaj.

Question 13: Psychic Experiences and Siddhis

Since I deepened my meditation and Pranayama practice, strange things have started happening. I have intense premonitions, highly vivid dreams, and sometimes I feel like I can intuitively read exactly what someone is thinking or feeling. Are these psychic abilities a sign of spiritual progress, or are they distractions that I should ignore?

Answer:

Just watch them as his Leela. No need to create ego identity around it and no need to actively ignore also.
