Do Ghosts exist?

Do Ghosts Exist

Question 10

Do ghosts, spirits, or negative entities actually exist? Sometimes I feel a very heavy, draining, or dark energy in certain places, or even after interacting with specific people. Is this just my psychological state projecting outward, or are there actual unseen forces we need to protect ourselves from? If they are real, how do we stay unaffected?

Answer:

Yes, but not in the way you might think. Life is a manifestation of Shakti1. Everything we see, feel, think or imagine is energy – Shakti. Energy works on frequencies. What we call positive and negative, good and evil, etc., are nothing but different frequencies of energy.

So what you feel at certain places or after meeting certain people is nothing but the interaction of one frequency with another. If you are generally a positive, optimistic or cheerful person and if you come in contact with a dull or depressive or dark space or person, you are bound to feel the shift in your energy.

This negative feeling, combined with the images and thoughts created by the mind (based on past references – fictional or non-fictional), creates a ghost or a toxic person.

The energy is real, but the form your mind creates may not be. The same energy can be perceived differently by different people, depending on the receiver.

Those who are emotionally sensitive, inwardly observant, or spiritually inclined may be more receptive to such things. A clean mind becomes a mirror which reflects what it sees, so you may feel the negativity even more.

Best thing to do is to avoid going to such places or minimizing interactions with draining people.

Trigger Warning: Mentions of death and trauma

Haunted places are nothing but concentration of trapped negative energies. If someone went through pain at some place and died there, the place is bound to store that pain and suffering there. If you visit that place, you will feel that energy.

Same goes with negative people. If you hang around with a person who has a depressive outlook towards life, you’re bound to invite the person’s negativity sooner or later. It’s best to avoid interacting with people you literally don’t vibe with.

One more important thing: all kinds of energies are always around us. If you are in a vulnerable mental and emotional state, you are prone to attract negative energies. By living in guilt, regret, worries, anxiety, shame or fear, we invite energies of similar nature.

Pranayama2 (breathing exercises), listening to devotional or spiritual music, and meditation are great antidotes to negativity.

As you evolve spiritually, negativity will naturally stay away from you.

And remember:

Life is just a dream. Take it easy.
